When, in the work <em>Hanging by a Thread<\/em>, I crush a body made from the pages of the encyclopedia representing my father, I push back against the violence of patriarchy.\r\n\r\nArtworks in <em>Undoing the Printed Word<\/em> also include transformations of some of my most esteemed literary works \u2013such as James Joyce\u2019s <em>Ulysses<\/em>, Virginia Woolf\u2019s <em>The Waves <\/em>and Marcel Proust\u2019s <em>\u00c0 la recherche du temps perdu<\/em>. Here, transforming the pages of these works into weavings is an homage to these authors\u2019 writings. They are a way for me to visually interpret the stories told.
